Reservoir Re-provisioning Project Completed on Time
The Centennial Campus will be built on the former service reservoir area of the Water Supplies Department (WSD). The University undertakes the reservoir re-provisioning works for the WSD at a cost of HK$500 million. The works commenced in early 2007 and completed on time in mid September this year.
The works included the excavation of a cavern for the storage of saltwater, the construction of two new freshwater reservoirs, an Emergency Vehicular Access Road, and a pipe gallery.
Following the completion of the reservoir re-provisioning project, the Centennial Campus superstructure construction started in mid September. The project was awarded to Gammon Construction Ltd. for HK$1.97 billion. The construction will be completed in March 2012.
