Special Traffic Arrangements From 1:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, February 6, 2010
Due to the construction of the MTRC West Island Line, two Ficus Microcarpa (or banyan trees) near Haking Wong staircase will be affected. In order to facilitate the transplant of one of the trees (ET16) by HKU in May 2010, MTRC will remove the adjacent tree (ET15) from 1:00pm to 6:00pm on February 6, 2010. The MTRC has obtained the approval of the Lands Department to carry out the removal exercise. BOTH LANES of the road beside the trees will be CLOSED during this period.
THE WEST GATE WILL NOT BE AFFECTED AND WILL REMAIN OPEN.
If you need to travel from Pokfulam Road (Sai Ying Pun) to Composite Building please refer to Figure 1.
If you need to travel from Pokfulam Road (near Belcher’s) to HKU West gate, please use the Composite Building carpark, or refer to Figure 2.
Please follow the advice of the on-site traffic wardens if you are planning to drive to the University during this period.
