The Centennial Campus construction is well underway and will be completed in 2012.  The main campus and the Centennial Campus will be linked by a University Street (U-Street), a two-level pedestrian walkway. The U-street will also provide linkages with the entrance of MTRC station, to be operated in 2014.

Due to the works in association with the construction of U-street, the existing canteen near the Student Union will need to be demolished in late 2010.  The construction of the new canteen, at the Haking Wong Covered Podium, will commence in April. The new canteen will be in operation in around November 2010, after which the Union Canteen will be demolished.

Catering service of the Union Canteen will not be affected during the construction period.
